Editing a User

Occasionally, you may need to update a participant's account details for example, if they've changed their surname or need to use a new email address.

Written by Angus Williams

Where possible, we recommend participants update their own details through their Eventrac account. However, organisers can also make certain changes on a participant's behalf when required.

💡 Tip: Allowing participants to manage their own details helps ensure their information stays up to date while reducing administration.

What Can Participants Update Themselves?

Depending on your event settings, participants may be able to update information such as:

  • Contact details

  • Address

  • Registration answers

If the required change can't be made by the participant, an organiser can update the account manually.

How to Edit a Participant

  1. Navigate to the Customers section of your account.

  2. Search for and open the participant's record.

  3. Make the required changes.

  4. Save your updates.

What Can Be Edited?

From the participant record, you can update:

  • Email address

  • First name

  • User role (for example, User or Admin, where applicable)

If you use an Ambassador Scheme, you can also assign or update a participant's ambassador programme from this page.

Important Information

❕ Date of birth cannot be edited.

If a participant's date of birth is incorrect, please contact the Eventrac Support team for advice.

Can't Edit a Participant?

If you're unable to edit a participant's details, it's likely the account was manually imported into Eventrac.

In these cases, some fields may be locked. If you're unsure why an account can't be edited, please contact our support team.

Summary

The Customers section allows organisers to update key participant account information when needed, including names, email addresses, and user roles. Wherever possible, we recommend participants manage their own details to keep their information accurate and up to date.
