Creating an Event (Basics)

Before you can add individual races or tickets, you need to create an Event. An Event acts as the container for your races, allowing you to manage and display multiple occasions efficiently.

You can use an Event to represent:

  • A self-contained, recurring eventExample

  • A venue hosting multiple or recurring events → Example

  • A series comprised of multiple events → Example

If multiple events occur at the same venue with numerous races or tickets, listing events individually can simplify both the participant experience and admin management.

Creating an Event

Before creating your first event, make sure your Stripe account is connected.

  1. From the dashboard, choose a calendar to add the event to. Unless you have a custom calendar we recommend using the Sporting Events (default)

    • Options: Sporting Events, Events, Coaching Courses

    • Or select a custom calendar you’ve created. → Learn about calendars

  2. Click Create New Event.

Adding Event Basic Information

  1. Event Name – keep it short. Don’t add dates (these go on races).

  2. Event Description – your sales pitch. Use formatting to make it clear and attractive.

  3. Event Location & Travel Directions – drop a pin on the map and adjust zoom. You can also disable the map if you prefer. → Event Location guide

Click Submit to save your event.

Advanced Options

Once you are happy with the information you can click submit to save the changes and you will be taken to create the first race. You can always come back to to edit all details at a later date and you don’t have to create a race to save the event profile.

Once you have created an event, even if there aren’t any races, you will have a URL and can take register interest.
