In mass participation events, "own place" participants are individuals who secure their entry through the standard registration process but choose to raise funds for a charity of their choice. While they are not officially registered with the charity for the event, they independently express interest in supporting a cause close to their heart. These participants typically set up personal fundraising pages or campaigns, using the event as an opportunity to gather donations. Their involvement provides valuable, often unexpected, support to charities, helping to increase awareness and financial contributions through their personal networks.

Locating this Feature

Navigate to a given Event > Setup > Form > Charity Partners

Adding charity partners

Enabling the own-place participant options is quick and easy. Eventrac provides an “out the box” solution that will add a list of charities to your entry forms and allow participants to opt-in to their communication.

To enable this option, simply navigate to Charity Partners and then click Add To Form on the group of charities you wish to add

What the Participant sees

Once enabled, the following will appear on the entry form.

Reporting on own place participants

When viewing a participant <link>, you can see any charities a participant has opted into hearing from by scrolling down to the Leads section.

Note: If a participant has not opted into a charity, this section will not be shown

What the Charity Sees

Each charity has their own dashboard and can see a list of participants who entered your event and have expressed interest to hear from them.

Building your own list of charities

Whilst eventrac has relationships with many charities that you can include by default, there maybe a time when you wish to include charities that you already have a relationship with i.e. charities that are already involved in the event or are local to the area.

Adding a custom charity or group of charities is straightforward but will require assistance from our support team. For further information, please reach out using live chat or email [email protected]
