The Block Editor

The new Block Editor replaces the old plain-text field with a powerful, flexible formatting experience that lets you structure your content clearly and professionally, without needing any technical skills.

Written by Angus Williams

Your event description is often the first thing attendees read and now you have the tools to make it count.

Think of it like building with blocks: each section of your description is its own element a heading, a paragraph, a list that you can add, arrange, and style with ease.

Getting started

The Block Editor is available on your event description and map description. To apply formatting, use the “/”

Formatting options

The editor supports the following block types:

Headings
Use headings to break your description into scannable sections. There are six levels available:

  • H1 – Heading 1 — Large section heading, ideal for major topics (e.g. "Race Day Schedule")

  • H2 – Heading 2 — Medium section heading

  • H3 – Heading 3 — Small section heading

  • H4 – Heading 4 — Sub-section heading

  • H5 – Heading 5 — Minor heading

  • H6 – Heading 6 — Smallest heading, useful for fine detail

As a rule of thumb, use H1 or H2 for your main sections and H3–H4 for sub-sections within them.

Bullet Lists
Use bullet lists to present items clearly — perfect for kit lists, rules, FAQs, or anything attendees need to scan quickly.

Tips for writing great event descriptions

  • Lead with the essentials — put the most important information (date, location, what to bring) near the top

  • Use headings to guide readers — attendees often skim, so clear section titles help them find what they need

  • Keep bullet points short — one idea per bullet works best

  • Use H1 sparingly — one or two per description keeps things clean and easy to read

Saving your changes

When you're happy with your description, click Save Settings at the bottom of the page. Your formatting will be preserved and displayed to attendees exactly as you've written it.
