Course Map Unit & Description

Participants often look to view a course map for events in which they have an interest, in fact a course map is in the top 3 factors a participant takes into consideration when choosing an event.

Our interactive course maps are designed to help you get to know the route before race day. Rather than viewing a static map, you can explore the course in detail, zoom in on key sections, and see exactly where the route goes.

One of the most useful features is the interactive elevation profile. As you move your cursor along the elevation chart, the corresponding location is highlighted on the map, making it easy to see where climbs, descents and flatter sections occur. This gives you a better understanding of how the terrain changes throughout the course, helping you plan your pacing, prepare for challenging sections, and know what to expect on race day.

Switch Between Miles and Kilometres

You can now view course distances in either miles or kilometres, making it easier to understand the route in your preferred unit of measurement. Simply use the distance toggle on the Course Maps page to switch between the two. The map and elevation profile update automatically, so you can plan your race using the units you're most familiar with.

Editing a Map

You can update the title and add a description to your course map at any time. The description uses the Block Editor, allowing you to create rich, well-formatted content with headings, lists, images, links and other blocks. This makes it easy to provide participants with important route information, event updates or additional guidance alongside the interactive map.
